Your Strengths & Weaknesses

Posted on April 30, 2019 at 12:30 AM

When I see a restaurant or a store close, it makes me very sad that these owners could not stay in businesses.  A sense of anger also comes along because he or she was perhaps stubborn in their ways, did not see the full picture and their business plan was not fully developed prior to opening their dream.  We all know that it takes a lot of money to open a business, small or large.  However, before starting your new career adventure think about your strengths and weaknesses.  You can be an amazing chef but lack the business skills to open a restaurant, or a very talented yoga instructor who has completed their 500 hours of tranining and now has a yoga studio but no clients.

I tell all my clients before they meet with me to take a piece of paper and write down their strengths and weaknesses.  Why? because sometimes we do not realize our skills, what we lack and what we want to accomplish.  The big picture begins when you know yourself, not as a superhero but as realistic as possible so others can help you achieve your goal.

So grab a notebook (or your computer) and start your self reflection today!

Why Family Vacations Should Always Feel Like a True Vacation

Posted on April 9, 2019 at 12:10 AM

Do you ever come home from your family vacation and feel "I need a vacation after this one"?

From planning to traveling to finally landing and then all the chaos that may occur during your vacation... why is that necessary?

Over the years, my husband and I look for family vacations that truly feel like a vacation.  We still spend a lot of time as a family, but also cherish those moments of quality time just the two of us while the children are busy with supervised activities.   From skiing vacations to dude ranches, fun themed activities to relaxing spa experiences, there is a family vacation for all to enjoy!

Although so far we have mastered the best family vacations in the east coast, I must say... vacations now feel like a vacation.

There is no "I" in team

Posted on February 10, 2019 at 5:10 PM

Life is like a roller coaster but so is your business... sometimes.  Make sure you always stay positive, energized and appreciate all the people surrounding you.  From family to your collegues, there is no "I" in team.  All the individuals in your "team" are special, important and bring something amazing to the table. Make sure you always appreciate their feedback and opinion... even if you disagree.

Being Thankful is something that we don't always think about because we are so focused about our chaotic lives.  From raising a family of young ones to a hectic work schedule (or both) or perhaps trying to achieve perfection. At the end of the day, we should just be thankful for a healthy and loving family, having a warm and safe home and being there for friends, family and neighbors in time of need. It's not about the great deals on Black Friday or about stuffing ourselfes silly at the dinner table.  It's about being thankful for health, happiness and the love all around... and I know that I may sound like Ms. America at this moment... but world peace would be a beautiful thing too!

Finding Your Passion and Making a Difference

Posted on October 15, 2018 at 2:25 PM

How often do we hear "making a difference" but do not know how or when you will actually make it happen? I personally find it super simple and that many organizations are happy with whatever time you can give to their mission. From making holiday cards to a nursing home, wrapping a few gifts  for children with life-threatening illnesses or perhaps even just recycling your stuff.  From the environment to indviduals, you can make a difference, not to mention feel great once you are done!

Fashion vs. Function?

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 10:35 AM

Do you ever wonder what's more important, fashion or function?  I think it should always be both, otherwise you may look fabulous but be extremely uncomfortable (or feel way too comfortable but look like a fashion disaster).  The following are my top 5 must haves for the summer:

Top to bottom: Packable Floppy Hat by Nine West, Kiss Lock Box Clutch by MALIBU SKYE, Wander Cargo Pants by Athleta, Wedge Sandal by b.o.c

Summer 2017

Posted on July 7, 2017 at 11:35 AM

I was in Vermont with my family for 1 week and completely detached myself from the "outside world."No phone, no internet, no television, no news, no noise.  It was pure heaven just to be with family, friends, nature's beauty, music and summer fun.  I highly recommend to do this, you will see what an impact it will do to your mind and body.  If you do not have a week, simply do this for an hour or two (but have your phone handy for emergency in case your kids or somebody needs to get in touch with you).

With that said, last week I ran a race with my husband and hundreds of other people in my community.  It was amazing to feel that rush of energy, people of all ages cheering for you and the mind set of  "I can do this."  Although my one week in Vermont was so peaceful, I do enjoy heart pumping music while running.  My play list kept me going, not giving up and was my constant rhythm that I needed to finish this challenging race. What keeps you going?

Amour, Amore, Liebe, Ahava

Love is universal, love is special, love brings happiness, warmth and beauty. Love should not only be expressed on Valentine's Day. Ditch the flowers, the chocolates, the fancy gifts and just do something extra special to those you love.

There is not better time than now to truely appreciate the great outdoors, detox your mind and body and to enjoy being with your family and friends.

The autumn season is filled with nature's beautiful folilage, cozy (but light) knits and outdoor activities for any age that will make you feel so happy and healthy.

Stay tuned to people around Westchester and Putnam County that are on a mission to make you feel your best!
