Being Thankful is something that we don't always think about because we are so focused about our chaotic lives. From raising a family of young ones to a hectic work schedule (or both) or perhaps trying to achieve perfection. At the end of the day, we should just be thankful for a healthy and loving family, having a warm and safe home and being there for friends, family and neighbors in time of need. It's not about the great deals on Black Friday or about stuffing ourselfves silly at the dinner table. It's about being thankful for health, happiness and the love all around... and I know that I may sound like Ms. America at this moment... but world peace would be a beautiful thing too!

How often do we hear "making a difference" but do not know how or when you will actually make it happen? I personally find it super simple and that many organizations are happy with whatever time you can give them. From making holiday cards to a nursing home, wrapping a few gifts at an organization for children with life-threatening illnesses or perhaps even perhaps even just recycling your stuff. From the environment to indviduals, you can make a difference, not to mention feel great once you are done!

There are so many ways to spice up your routine, so you can keep on doing what you love but with something fresh and challenging. I was in Vermont with my family for 1 week and completely detached myself from the "outside world."No phone, no internet, no television, no news, no noise. It was pure heaven just to be with family, friends, nature's beauty, music and summer fun. I highly recommend to do this, you will see what an impact it will do to your mind and body. If you do not have a week, simply do this for an hour or two (but have your phone handy for emergency in case your kids or somebody needs to get in touch with you).
With that said, last week I ran a race with my husband and hundreds of other people in my community. It was amazing to feel that rush of energy, people of all ages cheering for you and the mind set of "I can do this." Although my one week in Vermont was so peaceful, I do enjoy heart pumping music while running. My play list kept me going, not giving up and was my constant rhythm that I needed to finish this challenging race. What keeps you going?

Love is universal, love is special, love brings happiness, warmth and beauty. Love should not only be expressed on Valentine's Day. Ditch the flowers, the chocolates, the fancy gifts and just do something extra special to those you love.
